<p style="text-align: justify;">In the article we present a new form of individualized program for a talented student, which we named a participatory individualized program for a talented student.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">We begin with a short historical overview of the work with gifted pupils in Slovenia, and then we highlight individualized programs for talented students who are currently in use in Slovenian schools.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The program was introduced as one of the elementary schools in the action research. We have described the plan, goals, course and results of the action research. With all the identified gifted pupils of this school, we conducted a preliminary interview, and then we repeated the interview at the end of the Action Research. We present the results of the qualitative as well as the quantitative part of the research, as we have realized that pupil awareness and taking responsibility for their own progress and knowledge, after using the participatory individualized program, significantly increased and improved.</p>
