In the last few years of teaching, I have noticed that the new generations of pupils are changing. Additionally, their perception, interests, the ways of working and studying are also changing.
In order to continually be successful, a teacher has to adopt new ways of teaching and working with these new generations. They are required to know the students, their interests and their strong points so that they can make the subject they teach more enjoyable and interesting for their class.

I try to motivate my students for mathematics by letting those who desire to do it present a smaller or bigger part of the course subject matter with a varying level of difficulty. The topic they present can be part of the regular subject syllabus, it can represent the application of knowledge to everyday life, an interesting fact from the subject field, or it can be advancement of the high-school subject matter.

In the article I outline the course of such activity: from approaching the student, picking a suitable topic for them, working with the student on their research, preparing the planned lesson to evaluating the finished work which further motivates the students to opt for the presentations and possibilities of additional presentations in other study groups.

I would especially like to present an example of working with talented students whose skills are not particularly challenged with the regular course subject matter, consequently reaching for extracurricular or sometimes even academic subject areas on their own initiative or with the teacher's help.
