Igra je nujno potrebna, saj z njo otroci izživijo svojo domišljijo in se kaj koristnega naučijo. Pomembno je, da otrokom predstavimo matematiko na prijeten in igriv način preko didaktičnih iger. Z nekaj znanja in domiselnosti lahko sami izdelamo najrazličnejše didaktične igre. Pogosto lahko uporabimo tudi predmete, ki jih ne potrebujemo več. Preko igre otroci lažje pridobivajo in utrjujejo znanje. Skozi igro se sporazumevajo in sodelujejo ter razvijajo vztrajnost. Učenje preko igre je zabavnejše, saj otroku pomeni sprostitev. Posebej pomembno je učenje matematike preko igre v prvih razredih osnovne šole, saj jih je z igro lažje motivirati. V prispevku so predstavljene različne didaktične igre, ki jih lahko uporabimo pri poučevanju v šoli ali utrjevanju doma.

It is important to introduce children to mathematics in a pleasant and playful way through didactic games. With some knowledge and ingenuity we can make a variety of didactic games ourselves. We can also often use items we no longer need. It is easier for children to acquire and consolidate knowledge through play. By playing they communicate and work together and develop perseverance. Learning through play is more fun as it means relaxation for the child. It is especially important to teach mathematics through play in the first grades of primary school, as it is easier to motivate them with play. The article presents various didactic games that can be used in teaching at school or for consolidating at home.
