Nadarjen otrok v spodbudnem okoljuPaper
Presentation will be in Slovene language.
Abstract: The article shortly describes the case study of a potentially talented child in the first grades of one of Slovenian elementary schools (Kambič, 2018). In the past four years, a case study (which is still ongoing) of a potentially talented child who currently attends 4th grade of the elementary school has been carried out. After the positive and encouraging work with him in the kindergarten, the situation got significantly worse in school, jeopardising the emotional as well as the mental well-being of the child. After two mentally extremely demanding years in school, the child blossomed in the past year with a new teacher. The question on the qualification of education workers for working with talented children arises. It would be completely reasonable, if the kindergarten teachers and teachers in the primary education possessed the knowledge on the characteristics of talented children and means of working with them. It is also expected that they advise the parents on the topic as well (Kambič, 2018).
