Academic acceleration occurs when a student moves through the curriculum at a rate faster than typical. The decision to accelerate a student should be data informed and made only after careful consideration of student’s instructional needs and social and emotional well-being. In this session, the presenter will discuss the process for assessing a student, essential members of the decision making team and relevant data collection.
